Osmanthus burkwoodii is a highly versatile evergreen shrub, known for its dense, dark green foliage and small, glossy leaves.

This trough pallet of 9 offers an efficient solution for larger landscaping projects where uniform hedging is required. Osmanthus burkwoodii is particularly valued for its ability to create a dense, compact hedge that rivals Box in its formality and structure. Although slow-growing, this shrub will eventually reach over 2 meters in height, making it an excellent choice for medium-sized boundary hedges or as a striking backdrop to more ornamental plants.

When left slightly untrimmed, Osmanthus burkwoodii produces a profusion of highly fragrant white flowers in April and May, adding seasonal interest to any landscape. A hybrid of two Osmanthus species from China and western Asia, this plant is both hardy and adaptable. It was first discovered on a nursery in Kingston on Thames in the 1930s and has since gained recognition for its garden worthiness, earning awards from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1978 and 1984.
