Readyhedge at BBC Gardeners World Live
June is an exciting month for Readyhedge.
As we are a sponsor for BBC Gardeners World Live at the NEC in Birmingham. The start of the month is full on making sure that all the hedging we are sending to the show is perfect!
This year we loaned hedging to 7 different gardens as well as loaning hedging and large topiary to decorate the show area open spaces and stage areas.
All our hedging is checked and trimmed before being carefully loaded on to one of our haulage partners for delivery to the show ground.
The highlight of the show for the sales team is that we also have a display stand and this is a great chance for us to get out of the office and meet both old and new customers. Situated with the show gardens it was brilliant to talk to visitors and to see what they do with our hedging.
The biggest hedging problem we heard of was the Box Moth Caterpillar, leading to a lot of interest in our box alternatives. We had taken Euonymus Jean Hugues, Ilex crenata Dark Green and Taxus baccata. All will do a great job to replace box, however most seemed excited by the Taxus and how good it can look when trimmed as a low hedge.
The stand out star of the show though was the Phillyrea angustifolia with its olive like foliage and ability to give a Mediterranean feel to a garden.
Below are a couple of gardens that used our hedging. Well done to all the award winners 2050 Garden by Vivien Mosely and the Botanical Gardener (Platinum Award).
Lyn’s Garden: a garden for all Weathers by August Ponds Ltd (silver Award)
All in all, it was a fantastic event for the team at Readyhedge, brilliant
